The Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) representing the city of Bangalore ,Karnataka. The Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) made three appearances at finals in Indian Premier League but losing all of them in 2009 against Deccan Chargers, 2011 against Chennai Super Kings and in 2016 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

      The Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB)   is captained by indian skipper Virat Kohli and coached by Daniel Vettori.The team Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) owned by Vijay Mallya and this was the second highest bid for a team inIndian Premier League (IPL).

HOME GROUND

The home ground of the Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB)  is the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore,Karnataka. The Chinnaswamy stadium is the first stadium in India, and the world, to use solar panels to generate the electricity needed to run the stadium. The Chinnaswamy stadium owned by state Government of Karnataka and has been leased to Karnataka state cricket association for a period of 99 years.

     In 2008 Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) were selected Rahul Dravid as iconic player and other players including indian test cricker team captain Anil Kumble along with Praveen Kumar , Zaheer Khan, West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul,  Aussies Nathan Bracken and Cameron White, South Africa's  Mark Boucher and Dale Steyn, Misbah-ul-Haq.

In 2008 IPL  Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) won only 4 matches out of 14 matches and finishing last second from the table. Rahul dravid managed 300 runs in the tournament  they had to even bench their costliest player at that time Jacques Kallis for his poor form.The Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) only team in IPL to change 11 opening combination in 14 games.

In 2009 IPL  Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) bought Kevin Pietersen, Jesse Ryder  and Manish Pandey. The team management appointed Anil Kumble as the captain and Royal  challengers found great success under Kumble's leadership. The team started with a win against defending champions Rajasthan Royals  and at the end of the league stage they won 8 and lost 6 with total points of 16. In the semi final they beat the Chennai Super Kings but the final they lost by 6 runs, to The Deccan Chargers. Manish Pandey became the first Indian to score a century in IPL and he made 114* (73) and also anil kumble had a very good economy.

In 2010 IPL Season Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) bought Eoin Morgan and they had a mixed round of success in the 2010 edition of the IPL. In 2010 
RCB made the second highest successful run chase in IPL history against Kings XI Punjab at Bangalor. In 2010 RCB finished the season in third position.

In 2011 RCB retained only one player Virat Kohli and leaving the rest of the player. In 2011 they bought Sri Lankan Tillakaratne Dilshan, Zaheer Khan, Netherland's Ryan ten Doeschate, Daniel Vettori , AB de Villiers,  Cheteshwar Pujara, Chris Gayle,  Dirk Nannes,  Saurabh Tiwary . The RCB started well against newly formed team, Kochi Tuskers Kerala but failed three consecutive matches. After that they did some huge performance and enter into qualifier stage. The Royal Challengers faced Chennai Super Kings in the 1st qualifier at Mumbai and losing the matches by 6 wickets against Chennai and they faced second qualifier against Mumbai and defeated by 43 runs and enter into final against Chennai. The chennai put huge score on board total of 205/5  and RCB lost by 4 wickets.

In 2012 RCB bought vinay kumar and Muttiah Muralitharan and  also retained Chris Gayle for the next two IPL seasons. In 2012 AB de Villiers and  Muttiah Muralitharan gave the team a winning start against Delhi but followed by 3 consecutive fails. In 2012 IPL Ajinkya Rahane’s ton at Bangalore included 6 fours in a single over from Aravind. The team come back, and won 2 consecutive matches but two subsequent losses put RCB in competition with Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab for the last play offs chance. Virat Kohli took captaincy against Deccan Chargers at Bangalore and won to put team on track for play offs but finally  they failed to qualify for the play-offs.In 2012 IPL Chris Gayle was the highest run scorer of the tournament, he scoring 733 runs.

In season 2013 they released Rilee Rossouw, Dirk Nannes,  Mohammad Kaif an bought  Ravi Rampaul, Daniel Christian, Christopher Barnwell, R. P. Singh, Moisés Henriques,  Jaydev Unadkat and Pankaj Singh. The RCB won their first 6 home games and the matche against Pune Warriors Chris Gayle smash 175 of just 66 balls which was the highest individual score in T20 cricket and RCB put up 263-5 and it was the highest total in T20 cricket. RCB  won in their last match against Chennai Super Kings which was affected by rain and now RCB only qualify for playoffs if Kolkata would beat Hyderabad but Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match to end the chance of RCB to qualify to play offs.

In 2014 season virat kohli announced as the captain of RCB and they retained Chris Gayle, Ab de Villiers and Virat Kohli and they bought  Mitchell Starc, Parthiv Patel, Muttiah Muralitharan, Albie Morkel, Ravi Rampaul, Ashok Dinda, Harshal Patel, Varun Aaron, Nic Maddinson,  Vijay Zol and Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj is the  most expensive player of the 2014 season but they ended as 7th position in 2014 IPL.

In 2015 IPL season RCB retained  Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Mitchell Starc, Ashok Dinda, AB de Villiers,  Varun Aaron and they bought  Sarfaraz Khan , Darren Sammy,  Dinesh Karthik  ,David Wiese, Sean Abbott, Subramaniam Badrinath . The Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs and finishing with 16 points. In the play offs they defeated the Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator but they lost against Chennai Super Kings in the qualifier 2.

In season 2016 they retained   Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mitchell Starc, David Wiese,Sarfaraz Khan, Varun Aaron,  Kedar Jadhav,  Yuzvendra Chahal and they bought  shane watson and stuart binny and KL Rahul .In 2016 IPL season they use two different jerseys for home and away matches. The RCB qualified for the playoffs after finishing with 16 points and secured second place on the points table but they lost in the finals by 8 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
